Originally from China, I came to the United States in 1989 to pursue graduate studies in International Development Policy at Stanford University, just months before the Tiananmen Square protests. Watching the events unfold from afar had a profound impact on me, shaping my views on political freedom and inspiring the themes explored in Echoes of Tiananmen.
After graduating, I worked in Silicon Valley across various roles. My first book, The Chinese Dream: The Rise of the World’s Largest Middle Class, won numerous awards. For ten years, I wrote columns for Forbes online and have appeared on CNN, BBC World News, and other media outlets. Weight of Eternal Peace is my first novel, developed over two years in Stanford’s Online Novel Writing Certificate Program, an equivalent to an MFA. I am passionate about exploring stories that intertwine personal relationships with pivotal moments in history, particularly those that resonate with my own experiences.
